Project background
Project Type:
Eco-friendly mining chemical solution application project, including dust suppressant and soil stabilizer for mine dust control and soil stabilization restoration.
Project Location:
A construction granite mine in Huizhou, Guangdong. The project was undertaken by a local environmental protection company. The area has a subtropical monsoon climate, with high summer temperatures, heavy rainfall and frequent typhoons. Environmental control requirements are strict, and the mine needed to meet dust emission standards while preventing soil erosion on waste dump areas and open-pit slopes.
Application Scenario:
The solution was designed for full-scenario mine environmental treatment, covering open-pit mining areas, main transport roads inside and outside the mine, waste dump areas and raw material storage zones. It was mainly used for dust control during mining, transport and material stacking, as well as soil stabilization to prevent erosion, landslides and slope loss.
Project Scale:
The total treatment area was approximately 12,000 square meters, including 5,000 square meters of open-pit mining area, 3,000 square meters of internal transport roads, 3,000 square meters of waste dump area and 1,000 square meters of raw material storage area. The monthly dosage was about 60 tons of eco-friendly dust suppressant and 40 tons of soil stabilizer. The solution was compatible with the mine’s existing water trucks and high-pressure spraying equipment, requiring only minor spraying accessories without large-scale equipment investment.
The granite mine mainly engages in granite extraction and crushing. Due to open-air operations, high temperatures, heavy rainfall and incomplete previous environmental control measures, the mine faced several major challenges.
Dust Pollution:
During mining, blasting, crushing and transport, large amounts of PM10 and PM2.5 dust were generated. Traditional water spraying had a short suppression effect, and water evaporated quickly in hot weather. Dust rebounded easily, causing emission exceedance, environmental complaints and regulatory pressure.
Soil Erosion:
The site is affected by rainy seasons and typhoons. The soil on waste dump areas and mining slopes was loose and lacked effective stabilization measures. Rainwater erosion caused soil loss, slope instability, mud runoff and potential water pollution.
High Treatment Cost:
The original method mainly relied on water spraying and geotextile covering. Spraying frequency was high, usually 3–4 times per day, leading to high water consumption and water truck maintenance costs. Geotextile covering required frequent replacement, installation and recovery, while soil erosion also required repeated cleaning and repair.
Compliance and Service Pressure:
With stricter green mine and environmental policies, the mine needed to quickly upgrade its environmental treatment system to meet dust control and soil protection standards. As the project contractor, the environmental protection company also needed a more efficient, long-lasting and cost-effective solution to improve service quality, ensure project acceptance and strengthen market competitiveness.

Project introduction
To address the core pain points of the project, Yingcai New Materials worked together with the Huizhou environmental protection company to form a professional technical team. The team conducted an on-site survey, tested soil composition, analyzed dust generation patterns and developed an integrated treatment solution combining eco-friendly dust suppressant and soil stabilizer.
The solution was designed around four key goals: long-lasting dust suppression, strong soil stabilization, environmental compliance and cost reduction. It was suitable for open-air mining scenarios and required no major changes to the existing production process or equipment.
Core Chemical Selection:
Yingcai eco-friendly mining dust suppressant and green soil stabilizer were selected for this project. Both chemicals meet green mine environmental standards, contain no toxic or harmful substances, are biodegradable and do not pollute soil, water or air.
The dust suppressant uses polymer bonding technology. After spraying, it forms a dense protective film on the treated surface, locking dust particles for a long period. It has a long suppression cycle, is not easily washed away by rain and remains effective under high-temperature conditions.
The soil stabilizer uses nano-polymer technology. It can quickly bond with soil particles, improve soil strength, prevent erosion and landslides, and help improve soil structure for later vegetation recovery.
Solution Adaptability:
The solution was fully compatible with the mine’s existing operation process. The dust suppressant was applied using existing water trucks and high-pressure spraying equipment, with different dilution ratios for mining faces, transport roads and raw material storage zones. The soil stabilizer was applied by spraying and compaction on waste dump areas and mining slopes.
The technical team provided on-site guidance for chemical mixing ratio, spraying frequency and construction procedures. The application plan was adjusted in real time according to rainfall, temperature and other weather conditions to ensure stable treatment performance.
Implementation Process:
The whole project was completed in 15 days under a zoned and time-scheduled construction model, avoiding blasting and peak crushing periods and minimizing impact on normal mine production.

Preparation Stage:
The technical team carried out on-site surveys of mining faces, transport roads and waste dump areas, tested soil composition and dust concentration, designed detailed chemical mixing ratios, spraying plans and safety procedures, and trained construction personnel on chemical use, safe operation and equipment adjustment.
Pilot Application Stage:
Small-scale spraying was first carried out on a 500-square-meter mining face, a 200-meter transport road and a 300-square-meter waste dump area. Dust suppression effect, dust concentration and soil stabilization strength were monitored in real time. The chemical ratio and spraying dosage were optimized based on test results.
Full-Scale Application Stage:
The eco-friendly dust suppressant and soil stabilizer were then applied across the whole mine. The mining face and raw material storage area received focused dust suppression treatment, while the waste dump area and mining slopes received soil stabilization treatment. Transport roads were sprayed regularly every day. The technical team stayed on site to solve problems, adjust construction parameters and ensure consistent treatment results.
Inspection and Acceptance Stage:
Together with the Huizhou environmental protection company and the mine owner, the team conducted full inspection and acceptance based on PM10, PM2.5, soil stabilization strength, dust suppression cycle and environmental performance indicators. All key indicators met relevant national and Guangdong provincial standards, supporting the mine’s green mine construction requirements.
Customer value
After eight months of stable operation, continuous monitoring by the Huizhou environmental protection company, the mine owner and Yingcai’s technical team showed that the integrated solution of eco-friendly dust suppressant and soil stabilizer fully achieved the expected results. It solved the mine’s major dust and soil erosion problems and delivered significant benefits in environmental protection, cost reduction, operation, compliance, service quality and safety.
Environmental Benefits:
The dust control effect was significant. PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations dropped by more than 85% compared with the previous treatment method, stably meeting air pollutant emission standards. The project effectively eliminated excessive dust emissions and reduced complaints from surrounding areas.
The soil stabilization effect was also outstanding. Soil loss on waste dump areas and mining slopes decreased by more than 90%, helping prevent landslides, mud runoff and water pollution. The surrounding ecological environment was better protected. Both chemicals are biodegradable and cause no secondary pollution, supporting green mining acceptance.
Economic Benefits:
The solution greatly reduced overall environmental treatment costs. Annual savings included about RMB 400,000 in water and water truck maintenance costs, about RMB 350,000 in geotextile purchase, replacement and labor costs, and about RMB 250,000 in soil cleaning and restoration costs. Total annual cost savings reached approximately RMB 1 million.
No dedicated large equipment was required, saving more than RMB 1.5 million in equipment investment. At the same time, the solution helped avoid environmental penalties caused by excessive dust emissions, reducing potential indirect losses. For the environmental protection company, the efficient treatment solution improved project delivery efficiency, reduced service costs and strengthened market competitiveness.
Operation and Maintenance Benefits:
The mine’s environmental maintenance process became much simpler. The dust suppression cycle was extended to 7–10 days, and water spraying frequency was reduced from 3–4 times per day to once every 7 days. This greatly reduced water truck operation and labor input.
One application of the soil stabilizer maintained a solidification effect for more than six months, eliminating the need for frequent repair and replacement of protective materials. Yingcai’s technical team also provided long-term after-sales guidance to optimize chemical usage in real time and ensure stable treatment performance. The overall maintenance efficiency of the mine and the environmental protection company increased by more than 80%.
Compliance Benefits:
The solution fully complies with green mine construction requirements and air pollutant emission standards. Dust control and soil stabilization indicators both reached the required standards, helping the mine avoid production suspension, rectification orders and environmental penalties.
The project also supported green mine certification, improved the mine’s brand image and helped the Huizhou environmental protection company build a benchmark case for green mine environmental treatment.
Safety Benefits:
The soil stabilizer improved the strength of waste dump areas and mining slopes, reducing the risk of rainy-season landslides and slope collapse. Lower dust concentration improved the working environment and reduced respiratory health risks for workers.
The chemicals are safe for storage and use, with no toxic gas or hazardous wastewater generated during application. This helped eliminate safety risks caused by traditional treatment methods.
Overall, the solution required no modification to the mine’s existing equipment. With eco-friendly chemicals as the core, it integrated dust control and soil stabilization in one treatment system. It solved environmental compliance problems, reduced treatment costs, improved maintenance efficiency and strengthened the service capability of the environmental protection company. It provides a replicable and scalable solution for green mine environmental management in Guangdong and other hot, rainy mining regions.
