Project background
The customer is a large integrated transportation group in Changchun, Jilin Province, mainly engaged in road passenger and freight transportation, general aviation short-distance transport and airport ground support services.
Due to the severe winter climate in Northeast China, with minimum temperatures reaching around -35°C, the customer had long faced major challenges in vehicle and aircraft anti-icing, corrosion protection and surface cleaning.
For vehicles, windshields and wheels were easily affected by ice and snow, reducing driving visibility and increasing safety risks. Vehicle chassis and bodies were also exposed to snow, de-icing agents, dust and oil stains, resulting in corrosion, frequent cleaning and higher maintenance costs.
For aircraft, ice accumulation on wings and tail surfaces could affect aerodynamic performance and flight safety. Aircraft fuselage coatings and airport ground support vehicles were also exposed to low temperatures, UV radiation, humidity changes, oil stains and corrosive media, increasing maintenance pressure and equipment loss.
Project introduction
YINGCAI developed a customized nano anti-icing, anti-corrosion and anti-fouling coating solution according to the customer’s different transportation scenarios.
For vehicle applications, the coating was applied to windshields, chassis, vehicle bodies and key exterior surfaces. The hydrophobic anti-icing layer helps reduce ice adhesion, making ice and snow easier to remove. The anti-corrosion layer helps protect the chassis and metal parts from snow, water, de-icing agents and road pollutants.
For aviation applications, the coating was applied to aircraft wings, tail surfaces, fuselage skins and engine nacelle areas. The solution helps reduce ice adhesion, improve surface protection and support safer winter aircraft operation.
The project covered 200 transportation vehicles, including 120 heavy logistics vehicles and 80 passenger transport vehicles, as well as 15 general aviation aircraft and 30 airport ground support vehicles. The total coating application area reached approximately 8,600 m². The project was also equipped with intelligent anti-icing monitoring systems, coating maintenance equipment and supporting operation services.
Customer value
After implementation, the project helped the customer solve key pain points in winter icing, corrosion protection, surface pollution and transportation operation efficiency.
Safety Value:
The coating helped reduce ice adhesion on windshields, aircraft wings, aircraft tails and key exterior surfaces, reducing the need for manual ice scraping and repeated de-icing. It improved driving visibility, aircraft operation safety and winter transportation reliability.
Economic Value:
The solution reduced the use of traditional de-icing agents and manual de-icing work. It also helped extend the anti-corrosion maintenance cycle of vehicle chassis, aircraft surfaces and airport ground support vehicles. Based on customer operation data, the project helped reduce annual maintenance and de-icing costs while improving equipment utilization.
Operation Value:
The coating reduced cleaning frequency and shortened de-icing time. For vehicles, it helped save daily cleaning and de-icing time. For aircraft, de-icing efficiency was improved, helping reduce flight delays and increase aircraft availability. The intelligent monitoring system also reduced manual inspection pressure and improved maintenance response efficiency.
Environmental Value:
By reducing the use of traditional de-icing chemicals and frequent cleaning, the project helped lower environmental pollution and resource consumption. The eco-friendly nano coating system supports safer, cleaner and more sustainable transportation operation in cold regions.
